1934 – 2017
Margaret was born on November 15, 1934 to Fred and Annie Plotnikoff (Verigin). Margaret was the youngest in the family with 2 brothers: Fred and Bill; and 2 sisters: May and Mable. Margaret grew up in Castlegar and attended Brilliant School. She married Sam Stoochnoff in 1953. They lived in Ootischenia where they raised their 4 children: Sam, Barbara, Timmy, and Peter.
Margaret enjoyed nature and being outdoors. She loved gardening, tending her orchard, cooking, flowers and houseplants. She provided endless support to her family whenever it was needed. Whenever anyone walked through her door she would always have a warm bowl of soup and a bucket of cookies to share.
Margaret’s legacy will be remembered in her 4 children, 7 grandchildren: Chris, Ryan, Max, Sara, Laurence, Lisa and Geoff; and 3 great grandchildren: Daniel, Melanie and Emily.
The family would like to thank her grandson Geoff for his tireless dedication in supporting her in her home so she was able to live her last few years there. His kindness and care is deeply appreciated.
Margaret died at home after her 83rd birthday on November 25, 2017. A funeral is being held at the Ootischenia Hall at Monday December 4th, at 10:00 am with lunch to follow.
