Obituary for Steven Pierre
Steven Pierre
Passed suddenly at home on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at the age of 53. He was born February 3, 1964 to Robert and Mary Pierre in Toronto, Ontario. On June 6, 1987 he married Laurie Leach in Sudbury, Ontario. This year would mark their 30th wedding anniversary. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on projects with family and friends.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife Laurie; son Matthew and his partner Danyal Phillips, daughter Stephanie and her fiancé Scott Russell; two treasured grandchildren, Levi and Brody; father Robert Pierre and step-mother Elinor Pierre; siblings Kathy (John) McCarty, Jeanette Booth, Paul (Natalie) Pierre and Chris (Merrill) Pierre, Ken Sonnenburg and Jean (Alan) Sonnenburg and nieces, nephews and extended family. Steve is predeceased by his mother Mary Patricia Pierre (nee McGee). Steve was a proud and loving father, husband, grandfather and friend.
A visitation service will be held at Menard Funeral Home in Blind River, Ontario on Monday May 8, 2017 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A burial service will be performed at Carlyle Cemetery in Iron Bridge, Ontario on Tuesday May 9, 2017 at 11:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm at the Iron Bridge Lions Hall.
In lieu of flowers the family appreciates donations to the North Shore Health Network or the Heart and Stoke Foundation.
