Roy L. Fromm
1937-2017
It is with deep sadness the family
announces the passing of Roy Lester
Fromm, age 80, of Amherst, NS. Roy passed
away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Cumberland Regional Hospital
with family by his side.
Born in West Amherst, NS he was a son of
the late Lester and Florence (Doncaster) Fromm.
Roy started working at a young age on
the Lusby Farm, then on to work for E.L. Casey and the remainder of
his career working in the carpentry industry. Before his
illness, Roy enjoyed being active throughout the year; his
hobbies followed the seasons, hunting, fishing, trapping, sugar woods
and gardening.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of
59 years, Josephine (Thibideau); children Patti (David) Lepper, Nancy
(Thomas) Trenholm, Laurence (Jan), Elizabeth (Larry) White;
grandchildren Gayle Trenholm, Nicholas Trenholm (Kim), Melanie
(Matthew) Scholz, Megan Trenholm (Brian), Matthew (Lee-Anne) Lepper,
Jessica White (Liam); 6 great grandchildren; brother Ivan (Alda)
Fromm; sister-in-law Eleanor Fromm; very special sister-in-law Vicki
Harrison; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brother George,
sister Greta (Bernie) Jackson and great grandson Leo
Trenholm.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home,
70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777) where a time of visitation
will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm. The funeral service
will take place at Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, Amherst on Friday,
December 29, 2017 at 2 pm, K. Ruth Gamble, DLM and Mrs. Shelly
Trenholm officiating.
Donations in memory of Roy may be made
to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the charity of your
choice.
