Obituary of Marie Melanson
MELANSON, Marie Rita – At Marshall Gowland Manor on Monday, December 25, 2017 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Raymond (2014). Dear mother of Mai Anderson (Eddie Gabriel), Oil Springs, John Melanson (Endah), Dawson Creek, B.C., Peter Melanson (Sharon), Sarnia, Rita Varsava (Gary), Port Elgin and Donald Melanson (Rhonda), Sarnia. Loving grandmother of Tina, Lisa, Greg, Chris, Jennifer, Heather, Mathew, Sarah, Michael, Scott, Noah, Madelyn and Cinby. Great-grandmother of Danyelle, Christy, Teresa, Brooke, Lucas, Kate, Alexandra, John, Margaret, William and Charlotte. Sister of Dorilla Cormier, New Brunswick. Predeceased by parents Fred & Sara Bourque, son Michael Melanson, brothers Edward, Joseph and Henry Bourque and sister Theresa Currie. Marie was a member of the Catholic Women’s League, St. Vincent de Paul Society and St. Benedict’s Church. She retired from the L.C.R.C.S.S.B. in 1989. Marie & Ray enjoyed traveling, visiting places such as Hawaii and the Holy Land. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St, Sarnia on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict’s Church on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
