Obituary

Marcus David Raw Eater (Bear) Pa’ksikoyi of Siksika Nation, passed away June 21, 2017 at Vancouver British Columbia at the age of 50. He will be sadly missed by his son, Jacob Scrivens-Raw Eater, and siblings: Maureen (Clayton) Buffalo, Joyce and Henry George, Ellen (Jason), Laverna (Larry) Leather, and Verna (Ronald) Tallow. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, special aunties: Jackie (Clarence) Many Guns, Donna Little Light, and Annabelle Solway; uncles: Lenard Solway and Roy Stimson SR. He was predeceased by his father David Raw Eater; mother Cecilia Wolf Shoe; siblings: Donald, George, Charles, John, Elsworth, Clara, Georgina, Belinda, Justine, Lucy, and Doreen; extended family: Duck Chiefs/Running Rabbits, Doores, Franks (Blood Reserve), Stimsons, Breakers, Maguires, Brass, Winnipegs, Black Horses, Creightons, Roanna Axe’s family, Back Fats, Big Old Mans, Little Light, and Calling Last; and numerous relatives at Brocket, Kanai, Browing, Heart Butte, and Crow. The family apologizes if we missed anyone. Marcus attended school in Crow Foot, Edmonton, and Vancouver. A humble man, Bear loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was also friendly and had a great sense of humor. For leisure, Marcus enjoyed playing pool and basketball. His many friends in Vancouver and Seattle will greatly miss him.
