Lori K. Henderson (Nee: Cameron)
1944-2017
With family at her side, Lori passed away peacefully on
January 6, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Lori was
predeceased by her beloved husband, Tom, and parents, Ralph and
Kathleen (nee Hunter-Duvar) Cameron. She is survived by
daughter, Deborah Cameron-Fawkes (Andy) of Vancouver, brother Ron
Cameron, nieces Jennifer (Jason) and Megan (Pierre-Luc), and sister
Patti Galvin (Jim). Born in Charlottetown, Lori moved around
the country before returning to the Island to settle in
Gaspereaux. After working at everything from bartending to
insurance to agriculture, she attended UPEI to study economics as a
mature student and then served the community for many years as an
accountant. Lori had a keen intellect and an original mind,
with a passion for sewing, alternative energy, and many other
technical problem-solving challenges to absorb her for hours or months
at a time. She enjoyed good conversation as much as she
loved her solitude. Despite her illness, the last months of
her life were filled with joy and grace, sharing her home in Montague
with Deb and Andy. The family is especially thankful to the
Montague Home Care program and staff for making our home life together
possible, with such dedication and sensitivity.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on January 14, 2017, at
Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home, 40 Wood Islands Road,
Montague.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to
offer a memorial gift may make a donation, in care of Ferguson Logan
Funeral Home, to Montague Home & Palliative Care.
