Leona Weltz
Leona Weltz, formerly of Normanby Township, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. She was 88.
Born in Normanby Township on October 20, 1928 to the late Daniel and Ella (nee Wettlaufer) Lantz. Leona was a member of the ELW Ladies Group, the Neustadt Agricultural Society and enjoyed farming at home.
Survived by daughters Karen (Blake) Bolton of Sault Ste. Marie, Sandra (Peter) Hall of Hanover and son Roger Weltz of Normanby Township. Loved grandmother of Michael (Lori) Hall, Jennifer (Patrick) Ferris, Amanda (Kevin) Silverthorne and eight great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her brothers Gordon Lantz of Hanover, Clarence Lantz of Durham, sisters Sylvia (Tom) Weber of Neustadt, Eleda (Harold) Hossfeld of Mildmay, Rita Weiser, Amelia Hartman both of Hanover. Predeceased by her husband Lorne Weltz (2005), granddaughter Kimberly and brothers Elgin and Reuben.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 2-6 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00 am, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Normanby. Interment followed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Normanby Township.
Memorial donations to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Normanby wouls be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
