Judith Dawn Whipple
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Judith Dawn Whipple on Sunday, November 19th at Carlton Kirk Lodge. Born in Saint John, NB on July 4, 1952 to the late Kenneth and Ann Whipple.
Judy graduated from SJ Vocational School in 1971. She then went to work for the Kenneth Whipple building Contractor, SJ Frigate Program, and then retired from the Irving Forest Service 3 months ago.
She loved taking weekend drives to McDonald Point and Calais with her nephew and niece. In her earlier years she enjoyed spending time at Grampy Whipple’s Camp in Martinon under the old chestnut tree. Judy had a love of life; enjoying fine dining and wine at the Falls Restaurant or the Saint John Marina surrounded by dear friends and family. She was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Saint John Flames; she also liked bingo, baking, entertaining, animals and sailing. Judy was a caring and devoted lady, mentoring children and attending the South Bay United Church.
She is survived by her sister Bev (Roger) Gaudet, nephew Brad Gaudet, niece Karen (Bill) Hudson, one grandnephew, three grand nieces, uncle Murray Whipple and special friend Joan McCumber.
In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her brothers Bobbie Whipple and John Whipple.
The family would like to thank friends and family who knew and loved Judy. A special thank you to all the gentle hands and warms hearts of the staff of the Carleton Kirk Lodge.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 23, 2017 from 3:00PM- 8:00PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 1:00PM in the Fallsview Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations to the Judy Whipple Family Bursary at UNBSJ, Carleton Kirk Lodge, Carleton Kirk United Church or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
