Gertrude (Mutch) Potts
1938-2017
It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my
mother, Gert, who passed away at St. Anthony’s Hospital in
Petersburg, FL, on Sunday, February 19, 2017 following a brief
illness. Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Jenny
(Jardine) and Wilson Wyse.
A talented woman, she was a seamstress for many and in
Florida was well known for her baked goods especially her key lime pie
and rum cakes which she made for many an occasion. A loyal and loving
friend to many she never missed a birthday and was a great letter
writer.
She will be dearly missed by her loving daughter, Jolene
Mutch Wortman (Kevin); her husband, Robert Potts of Florida; her
sisters, Elaine Taylor and Karen Creamer and their families; as well
as Jolene’s father, Nyles Mutch. Besides her parents, she
was predeceased by her brother, Delbert; a very special nephew, Troy;
her brother in law, Pierson; and an aunt Ardith who was more like a
sister to her.
A memorial service will take place at Cobb’s
Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview
(869-2007) on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 2:30pm. In mom’s
memory, a donation to The Moncton SPCA or CARMA would be appreciated
because she truly loved cats and had many in her lifetime. Online
