With heavy hearts, the family of Elinor Pearce announces her passing, which occurred on December 23, 2017, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Elinor was born in Saint John on November 2nd, 1932; a daughter of the late Anne and William E. Lawson, and the loving wife of the late Robert A. Pearce.
A graduate of the Saint John Vocational School, Elinor went on to work for Irving Oil, NB Tel, and Scotiabank. She enjoyed fishing with her husband Robert, traveling with their trailer, and was an avid bowler for many years; she also enjoyed playing darts, and needlepoint.
Elinor is survived by sons Wayne and Terry Pearce, daughter Brenda Pearce, daughter-in-law Carmen Pearce, grandchildren Kenny, Kevin, Nicholas, and Nathan, and great-grandchildren Leeann, Alexander, Lilliane, and Barbara Anne. In addition to her parents and husband, Elinor was predeceased by a son, Mark Douglas Pearce, sister Winnifred, and a brother, Gerald.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held from the former St. Joachim’s parish on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 1pm with interment to follow in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Canadian Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
