Ed (Eddie) Huff
Peacefully on Sunday, May 28th, 2017 after a long and hard fought battle with heart disease Ed passed away with his family by his side.
He is survived by his wife Sharron, daughters Brenda (Kevin), Barb (Dax), his grandchildren Marissa (Curtis), Joshua and Kayleen.
As a young man Ed found his passion working in the (leather) garment industry working for Victoria Leather and Rice Sportswear for over 30 years.He started in the shipping dept, working his way up into sales. He continued to work in the industry opening his own business until his health changed.
After a few years he became restless and went to work for Walmart in Selkirk produce department, where he found joy again. He loved to be around people. However due to his health he had to retire.
Family was always Ed’s main focus, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for anyone of us.
Dad and Mom had a trailer at Tall Timber Lodge for over 20 years where everyone was welcome. Dad enjoyed being at the lake and spending time with the family. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed. He enjoyed fishing, boating and taking us waterskiing and tubing on the lake.
MISS ME, BUT LET ME GO
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in gloom fill room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me, but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me, but let me go
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone
It’s part of the Master’s Plan
A step on the road to home
So when you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me….. but let me go
As per Ed’s request cremation has taken place with a private family interment to follow at a later date.
A celebration of life (come and go) will be held at The Bronze Boot Tavern in East Selkirk Thursday June 1st, 2-5pm.
