Donald Kennedy
Don passed away September 12, 2017 in Cabri, Sk. at the Cabri Health Centre. Don was born to John T. and Jean Kennedy (nee Baxter) on May 21, 1934 in Paris, Ontario. Don spent his childhood on the family farm. Don came out with friends to harvest in Strathmore but they stopped in Cabri to visit friends that were working and ended up staying in Cabri to Harvest. Don returned to Ontario for the winter but was back to Cabri in the fall of 1955 and never left. Don met Carol Korven and on December 18, 1956 they were married. They had four boys; Doug & Sue, Connor, Cassidy; Allan, Brianne, Callie, Jaclyn, Shaylyn; John & Cindy, James, Jill; Grant & Luz; Partner Beth Petersen & her family; Robin & Rick Thibert; Sheila & Clay Bos; Wendy; Ashley & Jeff McClenaghan and their families, all who became a big part of his life. Don loved his music and had a big music family. 60+ years spent entertaining with the C Notes, Lionism was also a very important part of his life and he became a charter member of 55 years. Don was predeceased by his wife Carol, granddaughters Brianne & Cassidy, his parents John T. and Jean Kennedy, his brother Richard, brother-in-law Mac, In-laws Melvin and Margaret Korven, Wendy and Zane Petersen. Don is survived by his sister Margaret Ross, Janet & Bernie Meyerink, Jim & Karen Ross, Gordon & Louise Ross and their families; In-laws Garry & Carol Korven, Mike & Loretta Korven and their families. Memorial donations can be made to the Cabri Ice Centre with much appreciation.
