Don passed away quietly at High River Hospital September 13, 2017 at age 79. From his roots as a farmer’s son in Nanton, Alberta, to 30 years with Alberta Government Telephones and then onward to retirement for 30+ years. Don was a planner who fulfilled his plans, a loving husband and a father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His retirement was filled with a return to farming, golfing and travel. A jack of all trades ready to help his family and friends. Supporter of his friends and… community in many ways directly and indirectly who will be missed by all. He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Margery, and is survived by his Wife Maureen, Son Dale, Grandson Alexander, Great-grandson Jonah, Son Bruce / Wife Karen, Grandson Rex. A man who challenged life and technology from an early age to his final days. He was innovative in all aspects of his life, ready to take on new challenges as they appeared.
As per his wishes no funeral service will be held but all are welcome to attend a “Celebration of Life” on Monday September 18 @ 2:00pm at the Kozy Korner in Nanton, Alberta.
We would like to give a special thanks to the Care Team at the 3rd floor of the High River Hospital and also the EMS teams in Nanton for all their help and support.
