Daniel is survived by his daughter Mary McKay-Keith, his grandchildren Frances, Eliza, Daniel and Liam , his great grand children Jack, Evan and Leo, a brother James, and many neices and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his wonderful care givers, including Beth Green, “his right hand helper” for well over a decade. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Ann (McKay) Keith and an infant daughter Miriam, as well as seven of his eight siblings.
For Daniel , each new day held the possibility of a new adventure and he sought out these adventures with enthusiasm that was contagious to those around him. He will be best remembered for his love of people and his ability to reach out and make connections, bridging cultural and language barriers effortlessly. This gained him many wonderful friends far and wide. His gift for being interested in people and wanting to help out wherever he could has been a great inspiration.
In the Spring there will be an open celebration of Daniel’s life and legacy. We ask you to come then and bring all the wonderful stories that so many of you carry with you about Daniel. These stories will span almost 100 years! If you would like to remember Daniel before then, a thought would be to take a few minutes and write a letter or make a call to our MLA, in support of our wonderful public extramural health program. that is so very important in our community. Daniel’s family will be forever grateful for their support and caring that allowed him to stay in his home, in comfort, to the end of his life.
