It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, Clarence Bernard (Peter) Marsh, on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Mill Creek on June 9, 1938, he was the son of the late John and Emma (Jessome) Marsh.
Clarence worked for 35 years for Devco, at both the Prince and Princess Collieries.
He enjoyed gardening and fishing with his buddy Barry Buffett (Buffy).
Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Audrey Eileen (Betty) Marsh, sons Blaine (Joanie) Marsh, South Shore, and Glen (Cheryl) Marsh, Halifax, daughters Heather (Billy) Johnston, Sydney Mines, and Arlene (George) Pink, Mill Creek. Also surviving are his brother Louis (Norma) Marsh, Little Pond, a sister Margaret Harrington, Ontario, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and his dog Mickey.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson Kobe Clarence Pink, brothers Sylvester, Theodore, Wilfred, James, Gerald, Tommy and Lawrence, and sisters Marcella, Mary, Regis, Evelyn, Marie and Emmaline.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Michel McKeough, and the nursing staff, 4th and 5th floor, Northside General Hospital, for the care and compassion shown during his illness.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
