Charles Edwin Millard 1947-2016 Charles Edwin Millard aka «Choctaw the Clown», 68, of Edgett’s Landing passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2016 at the Moncton Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Kingston, Ontario on October 1st, 1947, the son of the late Dr. William Edwin «Eddy» and Annie «Isabel» (Miller) Millard. He was a faithful member of the Valley Baptist Church. He worked in the service industry for over 30 years with Xerox. Following an early retirement from Xerox, Charles moved to Edgett’s Landing, NB where he spent many years as a custodian at the Valley Baptist Church. He was last working with Andrez Printing in Riverview. Charles was a professional clown and loved entertaining people. He was «Choctaw the Clown» and involved in clowning for 37 years. He was the Eastern Ambassador for clowns of America International and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Charles also loved the outdoors and nature. He enjoyed all water sports and was Commander of the Canoe Club. He was also very involved in the Boys Scouts of Canada. He enjoyed roller skating, cross country skiing and bird watching. He was the type of guy who was always learning; having learned how to play the bass guitar at age 60. He also enjoyed taking pictures of his many outings and of his family. His family meant the world to him and he was very proud of all their accomplishments. He lived life to the fullest; having fun all along the way. His fun ways and great sense of humour will live on forever. Charles would want everyone to remember a special time they shared and have a laugh when you remember him. «Only a smile away.» He will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend, Paula (MacQuarrie) Millard; his sons, Robert (Cathy) and Andrew (Amanda) both of Perth, ON; his treasured grandchildren, Julia, Katie, Savanah, Liam and Ella; step-children, Tanya Minter of USA, Steven Lawson of Kingston, ON; step-grandchildren, Marina, Ryan, Danny, Samantha, and step great-granddaughter, Brookelynn; brother, David of Kingston, ON. He will also be missed by several special cousins, nieces and nephew, and all of Paula’s family «The MacQuarries» and extended family, and by many friends. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Valley Baptist Church, Hillsborough on Saturday, July 30th, 2016 at 2:00pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Edgett’s Landing, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Valley Baptist Church would be appreciated. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the doctors and staff of the Moncton Oncology Department, Extra Mural Nurses and hospice for all their support and care during Charles’ illness.
