Catherine A. Mahoney
1945-2017
It is with profound sadness that the family of Catherine
«Cathy» Anne Mahoney of Fredericton, announce her passing
after a short illness at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital,
Fredericton NB on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Born in Johnville she was
the daughter of the late Dan and Helen (Keenan) Mahoney.
She attended local schools and Saint Mary’s Academy in Newcastle, NB.
She enjoyed her computer, music, playing the piano for her sing a long
songs. Cathy enjoyed doing needlepoint, scrap booking, keeping record
of community events (deaths, births and marriages) and volunteering at
the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.
Cathy is survived by her sisters, Mary Lou Mahoney and Evelyn Pierce
(Bob); nephews and niece, Christopher Pierce (Kristi), Marc Soja
(Kathy) and Sarah Draper (Jody); great nephews, Quinn and Pierce
Draper; 7 aunts, Lillian, Bea, Evelyn, Monica, Joan, Marg and Irene
and many cousins and close friends.
Cathy was predeceased by her parents, Dan (1995), Helen (2001); her
brother, Michael (2015).
Visitation will be held from St. John the Evangelist Church, Johnville
on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:00 am from the church.
Fr. Owen Burns as celebrant. The interment will be in the Johnville
Cemetery. Donations made to the Johnville Cemetery or to a charity of
the donor’s choice would be appreciated. L.R. Giberson Funeral
