Bob Daygo Day – 2017

Bob Daygo Day, 69
North Sydney
Dad gave his last wildly inappropriate «hug» and made his last sarcastic comment on October 14, 2017. Left behind to miss his devilish ways is our mom, The Bride, The Saint, Janet Petite Day, who he enjoyed 48 years with.
Kicking and screaming, he was born in his parent’s bedroom on December 4, 1947. He became the apple of Nannie’s eye and gave Poppy a run for his money (Fred and Margie Day). Known to be the life of the party and being the centre of attention, Dad was always generous with unsolicited advice in exchange for dark rum.
Before he entered his cantankerous years, Dad could be found barking out orders at the various beer league softball teams he «coached» or on the many mandatory «feeling no pain» dart and bowling trips.
Being a self-professed jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none on any and all things (aka know-it-all) made him a valued and much loved guy. He taught all of us how to handle ourselves in all situations and how to jerry-rig just about anything. Growing up he taught us to enjoy sports and gently persuaded the 5 of us to adore his beloved Habs. Thankfully it only worked on one of us.
The King of Stubbornness grew up with siblings Lorraine Standing, Bill Day, Pheobe Pero, Linda Wilson and was a super hero to his baby brother Mike Day.
Having grandchildren made him a little soft and even a little lovable. Only granddaughter Kianna (Chucky) Marsh and rugrats Devlen White, Kirk and and Riley Day, Jack, Lex and Reed Boutilier, Hunter, Breton, and Daymus Day will miss their precious Grumpie. His great granddaughter, his wee sweetpea Charlotte, who he couldn’t wait to meet, will hear all about his wily ways as she grows up.
Dad hit the jackpot with his in-laws John (Laurie) Petite, Trudy (David) Blackburn, Jackie (David) Kuchurean and Audrey Petie MacDonald.
So we, the 5 «Good Ones», Nicole (Mike) White, Jeff (Nancy) Day, Nadine (Ian) Boutilier, John Day, and Peter Day, ask to join us as we give our last cheers to Dad at Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9.
A private family service will be held later in the week.
Donations may be made to the MS Society. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
