Benjamin Funk of Swift Current, SK, passed away on July 11, 2017, at the age of 67. The funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on July 17, 2017, from the Chapel of Warren’s Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Israelson officiating. The organist was Delores Falk, a duet was sang by Pastor Paul and Tammy Israelson, and the eulogy was read by Pastor Paul Israelson. Pallbearers were Kevin Funk, Jordan Funk, Jody Carey, Kevin Carey, Shane Lanz and Matt Carey. The interment service took place at Gouldtown Cemetery in Gouldtown, SK. Ben is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter ,Cheryl (Dave) Dewalt; son, Trevor Funk; grandchildren, Alysha and Tyler Dewalt; brothers, Frank (Norma) Funk, Henry (Renny) Funk, Jake (Angelique) Funk, and Cory (Lynette) Funk; sisters, Anne McDowell, Martha (George) Janzen, Kathy (Glenn) Moores, Helen Funk, Ruth Burne and Nettie Funk; Cheryl and Trevor’s mother, Bertha Wall; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Anna (Dueck) Funk, brother, Abe, in infancy and brother-in-law, Pat Burne. Ben was born on March 30, 1950 in Herbert, SK, to John and Anna Funk. He worked in various positions, including mechanic, REM, Crystal Temp and maintenance at McDonalds. He liked to do puzzles, watch rodeos, and loved to hunt and camp with family. Ben was a jack of all trades. He took pride in everything he did. He was a good mechanic, loved to watch old western movies, listened to country music and liked to just take a drive in the country. He was a very caring man and would help anybody in trouble. He loved his family very much and was very proud of his grandchildren. Donations in Ben’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
