Swan, Audrey «Jean»-
The death of Audrey «Jean» Swan of
Saint John occurred on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Saint John
Regional Hospital. She was born on May 18, 1925 in Saint John,
NB.
She was the daughter of the late William Wallace and Emma
Maude (Dunham) Beattie. Jean was a lifelong resident of Saint John and
the last remaining member of his immediate family. She has been a
member of St. Mary’s and St. Bartholomew’s
Anglican Church for her entire life. She worked in MRA’s,
F.W. Woolworth, Irving Oil Credit Office, managed the card and gift
shop in the Lancaster Mall, and for the last ten years before her
retirement she worked as a salesperson for Cowie &
Son.
She was predeceased by her first husband, R. Murray Lingley
and second husband, James Elwood Swan; brothers: Earl Wallace, Harold
George, Gerald Ralph, and John Kenneth; and sisters: Dorothy Helen and
Marion Evelyn. She is survived by several nieces and
nephews.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on
Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 4 pm to 8 pm. A funeral service will be
held on Friday, June 30, 2017 from St. Mary’s and St.
Bartholomew’s Anglican Church at 11 am. Interment will take
place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances to a charity of
the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
