Obituary It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, and grandfather, Allan Murk. Allan passed away peacefully at home after a valiant struggle with cancer. We are so proud of his courage. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Lyn; daughter Lana (Glen) Gratton and their children Brooke, Paige, Chase, and Connor; son Rob (Sheila) and their children Skye and Karley; son Brad (Heather) and their children Chloe and Caitlyn. Allan is survived by his brother-in-law Ron Tycholiz;brother Barry (Lynn) Murk;sisters Susan Murk, Shirley (Stuart) McDonald, and Brenda (Ernie) Latsay; in-laws Lucille (Chuck) Cummer, Frank (Mavis) Gillen, Rosemary Filax (Danny), Don (Amy) Gillen; numerous neices and nephews; and many great friends. Allan was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Elsie Murk, his sister Alice Tycholiz, parents-in-law Paul and Wilma Gillen, and brother-in-law Art Filax. Allan loved golfing at JR’s golf course, travelling to Hawaii, and cheering for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He loved life, laughter, people, and rarely missed an activity of his children and grandchildren. He was their greatest fan and they brought him great joy. We are forever grateful to Dr. James Bell for his compassionate care and to St. Albert Homecare for enabling Allan to stay in his home where he wished to be. Please consider organ and tissue donation. For more information, contact The Hope Program, University of Alberta Hospital.
