Obituary of Wendy Christine Mitchell
MITCHELL Wendy (nee Buck) passed away surrounded by the love of her family at Norfolk General Hospital, on Friday April 4, 2025 in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of Darcy for 54 years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Brad and Jonelle Mitchell of Hagersville and Nadia Waiton and her daughter Charlie of Port Dover. Cherished grandmother of Jesse (Sarah), Savannah (Phillip) and Jepson. Dearly loved sister and sister-in-law of Scott Buck of Jarvis, Debbie Bisson of Port Dover, Sharon Buck of Simcoe and Janice Buck of Port Dover. Wendy will be sadly missed by her many, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Betty Buck, son Michael (2018), brothers Mark, Wayne and Roger. Wendy was a lifelong resident of Port Dover; she was a member of the RCL Branch # 158 and a former member of the Silver Lake Rebekah Lodge # 150. Her greatest passion was her volunteer work with the Texas Chihuahua Rescue Canada Inc., she would foster chihuahuas from the rescue and then adopt them to their forever families in Canada.
Family and friends are invited to visitation to share their memories of Wendy at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 102 First Ave., Port Dover 519-583-1530, on Tuesday April 8, 2025 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. The funeral service will be private followed by cremation and interment at Port Dover Cemetery. For those wishing, donations to the Texas Chihuahua Rescue Canada Inc., or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
