February 28, 2025 at the age of 72 years, passed away after a courageous battle surrounded by her loving family.
Cherished wife of the late Michael Skreptak (2021). Devoted mom of Jason (Cathy), Daryl and Kathleen (Korry, 2019) Much loved Grammy to Lillian, Curtis, Mason, Christopher, Logan, Grace (2008), Cody, Alyssa and great Grammy of Nova-Lynn. Sister of Rick (Cathy) and the late Jim (2024) (Hazel), sister-in-law to Ron. Survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Elmer and Mildred Bauer.
Wendy’s ability to lead and organize led to her work as an office administrator for Eastwood Public School, Anderson Funeral home and later Families First Funeral Home. Wendy was a foundational member at Families First beginning her career there in (2000). She helped launch support to families after the funeral, providing support and vast knowledge to thousands of families and estates in her tenure. Wendy was kind and compassionate and will be remembered fondly by her peers as a woman who would not settle for anything less than your best!
Wendy has a vast group of friends, The BMLWS (Bonnie, Marg, Lynn, Wendy, Shelley) were long-time close circle of friends whom she adored, travelled with, confided in and shared many meals with and these women were a cherished part of life. Wendy also had many close family friends including, Sherry and Joe Novosad, Ralph and Ann Mueller, Pete Harris, Mary Fournier, Lois Johnson and countless other friends over the years who all played an important role in Wendy’s life.
Wendy was devoted and dedicated to her faith and her church communities at Lakeshore St. Andrews and Banwell Community Church. She served and led many groups including, an annual Women’s Retreat, Alpha, Ushering, and later became the head Usher, and an Elder.
Beta Sigma Phi was an important part of Wendy’s life, and she served as a President, Secretary and wore many hats throughout her many years active with the group including Delta Epsilon Master Chapter.
Wendy was creative to her core, hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing, and painting she taught anyone she could and wanted to pass on her expertise and love of crafting.
Donations to Lakeshore St. Andrew’s Church would be appreciated by the family.
On Thursday, Visitation from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:30pm. On Friday, family and friends are welcome after 10:00am for a Celebration of Wendy’s life at 11:00am.
