Thomas Gerald Wilson aged 73 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Sunday, December 29th, 2024. Gerry was born in Davidson, SK where he would spend the first couple weeks of his life due to a terrible snowstorm, which his mother, Dorothy, was sure to remind him of any year there was a bad March.
After spending his childhood and youth on the family farm at Tugaske, SK, Gerry purchased his own place, from a family member, just a few miles away. This is where he spent many, many years pursuing his passion of ranching and farming. In 2007, he would receive official recognition of the true dedication with the “Century Family Farm Award”!
Though Gerry never married or had children of his own, he was always ensuring the younger generations, through hired hands and family, knew what hard work and determination would provide you. He spent many years sharing his knowledge and love of animals, especially the value of a good, loyal dog, with everyone around.
Gerry dedicated 25+ years to the Forsythe Grazing Co-op. Pasture Manager was the perfect position – he spent thousands of hours with a good horse and trusted four-legged best friend – doing what he loved.
Upon his retirement in 2018, Gerry could not bring himself to leave the country. It would take four more years before he moved to the city. He spent his retirement years at the farm he grew up at, tinkering and making fond memories with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Dorothy. Gerry will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Marj (Bob), their three boys and their families; and brother, Larry (Brenda) and their daughters Twyla (Andrew) and Larrissa (Jordan). He will also be greatly missed by his great-nephew and nieces: Brayden, Shayla, and Tayn; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
A Private Family Interment will be held at a later date to honour Gerry. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Shirese Noble Funeral Director 306-693-4550
