HANLEY, Terry Allan –
Terry Allan Hanley, born on August 26, 1952, in Cambridge, passed away peacefully in his home
on Wednesday March 19, 2025, with his wife by his side.
Terry loved playing and watching hockey. He was a goalie for the Toyota hockey team, as well
as the Old Timers league in St. Jacobs. His goal was to play goalie until he was 50, which he
succeeded.
Terry loved the outdoors, he had many precious memories of camping, fishing, boating, and
waterskiing.
He also loved music. As a young adult, he and his brother-in-law Bob were DJs in « Brother to
Brother ». Terry was also apart of the Scout house band for a few years and loved playing the
symbols in the parades. Terrys love of music carried with him his whole life and he would enjoy
sitting and listening to music.
Terry enjoyed woodworking. From large projects like making kayaks, a tv corner unit and
cabinets, to smaller projects like chairs and collapsable tables.
Terry enjoyed working on cars and going to car shows. He loved cars so much, he was employed
as a mechanic at Toyota.
In Terrys later years he was a member of « The office » at the Cambridge Centre, where once a
week he would enjoy an afternoon of conversation and laughs with friends.
Terry is survived by his wife, Brenda Hanley, his three children: Trish Rochon (Dan), Matt
Hanley (Meg) and Arlene Evers (Steve). He also has two stepchildren, Jason Kolpean (Becky)
and Trudy Kolpean. Terry is also survived by his brother Jim Hanley (Colleen). Terry has 4
grand-sons, 1 grand-daughter and 3 step-grandsons. Terry also has many nephews and nieces.
Terry is pre-deceased by his parents James and Greta Hanley, his sister Karen and brother Bob.
Terry put up a good fight with Parkinsons disease for 20 years, Dementia for 4 years and was
also, a cancer survivor.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Shirley from Ontario Health at home, Julie
from the Cambridge Hospital, the overnight staff from Bloom and the PSWs from Paramed, for
the support in helping care for Terry.
There will be a celebration of life for Terry on April 13th, 2025, at the Breslau Community Centre (100 Andover Drive) from 10 a.m. until noon. In memory of Terry, monetary donations can be made online to the Parkinsons Society of Southwestern Ontario, or the Dementia Society.
