The death occurred peacefully at the Prince Edward Home with

on January 26. Survived by his beloved wife Cindy and their son Jeremy
(Megan) children Gordon (Shelley), Heather, David (Lisa) and their
mother Kaye. Grandfather of Alex (Kylie), Abbey (Kyle), Alyssa and
Jack MacFadyen. Great-grandfather of Haven MacFadyen. Brother of Kaye
Morrow, Thelma MacInnis and Archie (Diane) MacFadyen. Brother-in-law
of Randy (Tracey) Flanagan and Pam Flanagan, Judy MacFadyen and Jean
MacFadyen. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who he
loved dearly and many wonderful lifelong friends and family members.
Predeceased by his parents, Donald and Annie MacFadyen;
siblings, Melbourne (Eleanor) MacFadyen, Malcolm « Red »
MacFadyen, Elmer « Homer » MacFadyen; mother-inlaw Shirley
Flanagan; brothers-in-law, Ricky Flanagan, Leaman Morrow and Roy
MacInnis. Nephew Donald MacFadyen, Niece Erin MacFadyen. As well as
his best buddy Baxter.
Stu lived well, laughed often, and
loved with his whole heart. A highly respected member of the
community, Stu was adored by many, particularly children. He left the
world a better place than he found it, for he always saw the best in
others and gave his best in return.
Stu was a physical
education teacher, the manager of Simmons Sports Centre, a
Charlottetown city councilor and its Deputy Mayor. Often referred to
as « The Keeper of Victoria Park » Stu considered
Charlottetown the best city to live, work and play. Stu had a life
full of doing what he loved most, making people feel good about
themselves. He could put a smile on any face.
A lover of
all sports, Stu was often found at the baseball diamond or the rink,
if you couldn’t find him there, you could most likely find
him at the race track. Stu enjoyed life and everyone he encountered.
He was a tremendously kind, caring, and generous man who viewed
everyone as special. He often stated there are no difficult people,
only people that were misled. He strongly believed people needed to be
accepted, to be loved and guided, and he certainly did that with every
person he came across.
Most important to Stu was his
family. His children Gordie, Heather, David, and Jeremy. His four
grandchildren, his great-grandchild, and his beloved wife, Cindy, with
whom he spent 41 wonderful years. He took such pride in his family. He
loved to see them succeed but would never interfere with the direction
they took. He was quietly behind the scenes cheering for them and
loving them and wishing them the best.
Special thanks to
the staff at the Prince Edward Home Fox Meadow Wing for their generous
care in Stu’s final days. Their compassion and empathy made
a difficult time much easier.
