It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sonia Janice Adams on February 17, 2025, with her family by her side.
Predeceased by her sister Shirley Tucker, parents Wallace and Eileen Adams.
Sonia was the loving wife of Kenny, mother of Christopher (Emma), Trevor (Leah), Terry (Kathryn) and devoted Nanny to Keegan, Emery, Rowan, Zaylah, Xavier, Daisy, and Oliver, who were the joy of her life.
Sonia’s life began on January 13, 1958, born to Wallace and Eileen Adams of Milton, NL. She was a loving sister to Ed Adams, Dave (Jeanette) Adams, Ivan (Eleanor) Adams, John (Sue) Adams, Cindy (Dean) Burton, Vicki (Calvin)Drover, Betty (Brian) Greening, Wanda Long (Ron), Dale (Lydia) Adams, Lynette Adams, and special friend Marlene. Sister-in-law to Gerald Tucker, Glen (Glenda) Adams, Dyann (Jack) Adams, Judy (Wayne) Abbott, Earl (Maira Jose) Adams, and Perry (Tracey) Adams. She was a special Aunt to her nieces and nephews who hold so many precious memories of her. They are going to miss visiting and spending quality time with her, as each hold a special memory in their hearts. She treated them with love and kindness and was genuine with each and cared about what was going on in their lives, whether it was good or bad. Sonia also leaves a large circle of friends in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, and different parts of Newfoundland and Labrador, who loved her dearly, who were more like family than friends.
Sonia was the light in a room. She loved having people at her home for a game of cards or playing guitars. There was always lots of food and laughter, and this brought great joy to her life. She loved the outdoors, from skidooing, and at the cabin at “Loon Lake”, Wabush, quadding with friends, camping in her motorhome, and any chance she could get for a fire and a boil up. If there was a road trip, there was a lunch packed, with a tablecloth for the back of the car. Sonia was an avid quilter, which she picked up later in life, and created her own master pieces. Her most treasured in life, were her family. Her life with Kenny, the boys and her grandchildren are what made her life complete. She cherished her time with them and made the most of the time she was given in her final months before she passed.
Her presence in our lives will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Our “Pretty in Pink girl” you are now at rest. Funeral service will take place at the George’s Brook-Milton Cultural House on Sunday, March 30th, 2025 at a time to be announced.
Donations are graciously accepted by the family.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Dr Gordon Stockwell for the care and compassion he gave Sonia during her illness. The care you gave help to alleviate our burdens.
