Obituary of Shirley Ann (Moore) Finn
September 11, 1933 – March 5, 2025
(nee Rowan) On the evening of March 5, our dear mom, grandma and friend peacefully left us by her side, to answer her call home to the Lord.
Shirley was born in Buckingham, Quebec, to Daniel and Anna (nee Dunnigan) Rowan. The youngest of the family, she was predeceased by her siblings, Viola, Ken (Alma), and Ed (Phylis).
Shirley first shared her life with Owen Moore, her loving husband with whom she built a family. After the passing of Owen, she found love again with Frank Finn, bringing warmth and companionship as they danced into their later years together.
As a devoted mother to Heather Murphy (Phil “her second son“) and Lawrence Moore (Amy Beaudry) she embraced her mission of motherhood, with a gentle, yet fierce strength. As caregiver, cheer leader, and confident to her grandchildren, Kayla Demers (Quin), Trevor Murphy, Emma, Brianna and Sarah Moore, she was a constant source of strength and comfort.
Mom was a “working women” ahead of her time, also balancing a career with Revenue Canada that spanned more than 38 years.
Recently, some special angels at Granite Ridge joined our family to light and smooth the last leg of mom’s path and for this, we are very grateful.
Mom leaves for us, treasured, lasting memories of a life well lived, always guided by Grace, Faith and family.
Visitation will take place at Highland Park Cemetery in Carp, on Sunday, March 16 from 2pm to 5pm. Funeral Mass to be held Monday, March 17 at Holy Redeemer Church in Kanata at 11:00am
