Obituary of Sharon Joan Renberg
Sharon Joan Renberg(nee Kenzie) passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025 in hospital in White Rock, BC after a short illness, with her children by her side.
Sharon was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on October 7, 1941 and was loved dearly by parents Dorothy and Maurice Kenzie and older brother Russell.
Dorothy had a chance meeting with a young man who stopped to help her with a flat tire she had while travelling and mentioned he should meet her daughter.
William Renberg did meet Sharon not long after and they were married on December 30, 1968.
They made their home in Fort St. John while William worked on the Bennett Dam and Sharon gave birth to their first child Christeena in January of 1970. Shortly after Sharon and William moved their family to Fort Nelson where their second child Dereck was born in August 1972.
In 1979 they once again moved their family back to Fort St. John where they purchased a ¼ section of land in Baldonnel and with much perseverance and unwavering determination and hard work had a successful cattle ranch and Sharon also immersed herself in the Women’s Institute and raising her pride and joy in her children. Sharon’s love and support to her family was second to none.
In 1998 Sharon had lost her love William but her strength and love of her family helped get her through those hard days. In 2003 Sharon moved to White Rock to take care of her mother Dorothy until her death in 2006. After Dorothy’s passing, Sharon decided to retire in White Rock where she could be close to the ocean, a place that was always special to her after growing up in New Westminster.
Sharon was pre-deceased by her father Maurice, mother Dorothy, son-in-law Sheldon Andrews and brother Russell Kenzie.
She will be missed and loved always by: daughter Christeena Andrews, son Dereck Renberg & wife Trina, grandsons Brandon (Amy) and Jason (Nevada) Andrews and great grandchildren Amelia Andrews and Oaklynn Andrews, and many nieces, nephews and many good friends over the years.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Cathy and Chrystal who looked out for our mom, and Peace Arch hospital for their amazing care.
It was Sharon’s request there would be no service. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Fort St. John hospital foundation or Peace Arch hospital foundation.
