Scott Richard D’Entremont
1987-2025
It is with profound
sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Scott Richard
D’Entremont, age 37, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 in the Valley
Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Shelburne on May 15, 1987, he
was a son of Gary and Ruth (Carter)
D’Entremont.
Scott grew up in
Coxheath, Cape Breton, and as a young teenager, he moved to the
Annapolis Valley where he proudly played for the Valley Bulldogs and
graduated from Central Kings’ High School in 2005. He
furthered his education by receiving two diplomas from Nova Scotia
Community College.
Scott had various jobs
throughout the years, leaving his mark wherever he went, but he found
a passion and purpose with his career at New Vision Care Homes. Being
there not only made a difference in the lives of those that he worked
with and cared for but also had a great impact on him and his personal
growth. Outside of work, Scott enjoyed golf, movies, going for drives,
travelling, pool parties and going out for breakfast. Spending time
with his family and friends meant the world to him.
Scott was a sweet
child but also had an adventurous side with many shared memories
amongst family regarding the shenanigans he got himself into. Scott
was kind, generous and loyal. He valued his relationships with his
friends and family above all else and it’s that sense of
loyalty that made those bonds so strong with the people he truly
valued. He knew what it took to be a good husband, son, little
brother, friend and employee.
Scott’s
memory will be cherished by his partner in crime and loving wife,
Tracy (Smith) D’Entremont and their fur babies; parents,
Gary and Ruth (Carter) D’Entremont; sister, Cheryl (CJ)
Nauss; paternal grandfather, Richard « Shorty »
D’Entremont; parental in-laws, Tim and Gayle Smith;
sister-in-law, Stephanie (Ryan) Devoe; brother-in-law, Ryan (Sasha)
Smith; nieces and nephews, Lily, Chloe, Carson, Lincoln and Caleb;
along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Scott also leaves behind
a large ‘friend-amily » (friends he considered
family).
He was predeceased by
his paternal grandmother, Joyce D’Entremont; maternal
grandparents, Leo and Laura « Audrey » (McLellan)
Carter.
The family wants to
extend a heartfelt thank you to all the first responders present
during this tragic event. This is never an easy situation but we are
grateful that you continue to serve your community and can’t
thank you enough for all that you did for the family in this trying
time.
Cremation has taken
place and there will be no visitation by request. A Celebration of
Scott’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March
7th in the White Family Funeral Home,
Kentville. For those unable to attend, a livestream of the service
will be available. In honor of Scott’s memory, donations can
be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or another of your
choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
