In the midst of our grief, yet thankful for such a precious son, the family of Ryan Robert Feener, 40, of Bridgewater (formerly of Pine Grove), share news of his passing on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Lunenburg, he was the son of Llewelyn and Debbie (Wagner) Feener, Pine Grove.
Ryan graduated from Bridgewater High School at the age of 18 and then went to Verge House where he received a graduation certificate upon completing the 4-year program they offered. From there he went to the Ark where he was blessed by the many friends he made there. He enjoyed making mats and other things, but his greatest joy was when he made three models of Theo-the-Tug boat which were sold at the Ark. Ryan was part of the Special Olympics and played floor hockey as a goalie. The team got to go to PEI for the Provincials. This was during White Juan. Later on, members of the team were invited to go to Quebec to watch a game. With great anticipation the coaches arranged vans and the whole team headed out on a road trip where Ryan had the time of his life. We would like to thank the Staff of Ryan Hall for Ryan’s care over the past 13 years. We also want to thank the staff at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater and the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, for their care and compassion to us during this difficult and tender time.
Besides his parents, Ryan is survived by paternal grandmother, Mona Feener (Harry Nauss), Bridgewater; sister-in-law, Michelle (Downe) Feener, nephews Colby and Rylen Feener, Pine Grove; uncles, Lockie Feener and family, Northwest, Robert (Pam) Wagner and family, Goose Bay, NL; aunts, Donna (Neil) Joudrey and family, Northwest, Merle (Pat) O’Neill and family, Gould’s, NL, Kay Wagner and family, Milford, Marjorie (Dale) Ernst and family, Bridgewater.
He is predeceased by brothers, Shannon and Christopher; maternal grandparents, Jennie and William Wagner; paternal grandparent, Robert “Billy” Feener; uncles Lloyd, Albert, and Clarence; aunts Charity, and Bernice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy 3, Lunenburg. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Red Cross or the Special Olympics.
