They moved to Spencerville, bought a house on Goodin Road, and Ryan attended North Edwardsburg Public School in Shanly, for grades one through three, then transferred over to Centennial ’67 in Spencerville, for grades four through six. He attended South Grenville District High School in Prescott, for grades seven and eight, and then for nine through 12. This is a Poem that Robert McFadzen wrote for his son Ryan about 21 days after his birth.
Originally, the last line read: « Because my son, is living proof ». After Ryan’s death, Rob & Tracy decided to change it to: « Because our son, was living proof ».
MIRACLES
Do you believe in miracles?
They happen every day
It doesn’t matter « why », or « how »
But rather, « when » one comes your way
There is no clear way, to predict
When one comes passing through
They come to us in random waves
Just be thankful that they do
Sometimes clear, but often hidden
They’re seldom hard to find
You do not need your eyes to see them
Just an open mind
They present themselves in different forms
To keep our thoughts at bay
They lift us through our darkest times
And they brighten up our day
The only boundaries, to hold them back
Are the walls, put up by you
So tear them down, and free your mind
Your troubles will be few
They can’t be bought, and still aren’t free
But they’re always in demand
You hold them close, and keep them safe
Like treasure in your hand
The smaller ones, we cherish most
For they warm us to the core
The larger ones, we love to boast
They make us wish for more
They truly stand the test of time
Their powers will not fade
Their meaning surely can’t be missed
Their value, can’t be paid
I once had doubt, but now believe
That magic can, come true
So keep your hopes, and dreams alive
Good things will come to you
They’re occurring all around us
Mysterious, and aloof
But you cannot say, they don’t exist
Because, our son, was living proof
