His early employment was with Cockshutt Farm Equipment in Brantford, American Can Company in Simcoe and Niagara Falls before joining Union Carbide Canada Ltd at the Welland operation in 1961.
Wray retired from the Engineering Department of Union Carbide as a project manager in 1987 after 26 years of service. Following his retirement in 1988-1989, he assisted in the start-up of an operation in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Wray’s involvement in Tennessee resulted in a lifelong friendship with Ron and Carol Mitchem of Tennessee.

Wray was a life member of Harmony Lodge #115 I.O.O.F. in Brantford, a member of Scotland Lodge #193 AF & AM. Wray was an honorary member of Lookout Point Country Club and once a member of the former Vineland United Church.
Wray considered himself extremely fortunate to have been married to two people that he truly loved and adored. The most devastating loss in Wray’s life was losing his son Spencer to a rare form of cancer.
Wray was a caring loving husband, Father, Papa and Uncle. A kind, caring and loyal friend and neighbour to many. He was grateful to be able to live his last years of life in the home he shared with his Molly and forever grateful to his caregivers that allowed him to live his life in his home until the day he died.
