It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert Douglas Draper, who left us on Sunday, March 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family at Campbell House.
Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Heather (nee Pearce), his children Dwayne (Connie), Lisa (Charles) Barnes, and Darrin (Ying Tan), and his cherished grandchildren Anthony, Emma, Edward, Breanne, Rick, and Zoey.
Born in Collingwood to George and Ruth Draper, Robert is survived by his brother Don (Deb) Draper and his sister Karen (Bill) Cox. He was predeceased by his brother Les Draper. Robert was also a beloved friend to many, including Lorraine Clarkson and Don Carscadden.
Robert worked at the Beer Store in Collingwood for many years, retiring in 2008. Throughout his life, he was a quiet and gentle man who prioritized his family above all. He loved his daily walks, particularly those spent with his grandchildren, where he would share stories, history, and secrets, creating memories that he treasured deeply.
Robert’s greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. A kind and loving soul, Robert’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel on Thursday April 3, 2025, at 12 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Reception to follow. Interment at Trinity United Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation.
