Robert « Bob » Ivan Steeves
1942-2025
Robert Ivan Steeves, 82, of Moncton passed away
peacefully on January 9th, 2025 at K.E. Spencer Memorial Home. Robert
was born in Hillsborough on October 10th, 1942 the son of the late
Elmer and Greta Steeves.
Robert worked with the Moncton Fire
Department as a dedicated fireman for 24 years before his retirement.
He was proud to have served his community and be able to help others
when needed. He established Terry’s Place restaurant in Hopewell Cape
in memory of his son,Terry, who passed away due to a car accident in
1989. He liked socializing with family and friends and going for
coffee in the early mornings with his « coffee buddies ».
After he retired from the Fire Department he drove trucks for
Universal and East Coast International (Brentwood) as he always liked
to keep busy. One of his favorite pastimes was driving – anywhere and
everywhere – and especially through the back roads of his precious
Albert County. His main priority in his life was his family and being
a great husband, father and grampy. He was so proud of his daughter
and grandsons and was always there to help when needed. He loved Mabel
with all his heart and only wanted the best for her. We can take
solace that he is now having a great reunion with those who have gone
before him, especially his son Terry, his brothers, and his best
friend, Norm Crossman.
He will be deeply missed by his wife,
Mabel Steeves of Moncton; daughter, Cheryl Farquhar (Steeves) of
Moncton; his treasured grandsons, Alex Farquhar and Jacob Farquhar. He
will also be missed by several nieces, cousins, fellow firefighters
and friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased
by his son, Terry Robert Steeves (1989); and brothers, Eldon and Elmer
Steeves.
There will be no visitation. A
Memorial Service will take place on Friday, January 17th, 2025 at the
Albert County Funeral Home at 1:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves
officiating. Interment will be in the Fair Haven Memorial Gardens,
Moncton, NB.
For those who wish donations to The
Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
