Obituary of Richard M. Wilneff
WILNEFF, Richard M. – age 68 of Princeport. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Richard, who left us on January 2, 2025, at the age of 68. He was a man who embodied strength, bravery, and an unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
Born on October 8, 1956, Richard was a hardworking man who never shied away from rolling up his sleeves and giving his all—whether it was on the job or helping someone in need. He took pride in doing the extra work, always going above and beyond to lend a hand, fix what was broken, and make life easier for others. Richard was a pillar of strength and bravery, both in the way he faced life’s challenges and in his commitment to those he loved. He was a true protector, always standing firm for his family and friends, offering a steady hand and wise counsel when needed most. No obstacle was too great for him, and he taught us all what it means to face adversity with courage and resolve.
Above all, Richard was a loving and supportive husband to Marilyn, father to Ryan, Devin, Zabrina, a cherished grandfather to his 6 grandchildren (Hayden, Nash, Isabella, Isaac, Ariana and Roman), and a steadfast friend to all who knew him. He was the kind of man who always showed up when needed, offering advice, laughter, and a listening ear.
When he wasn’t working hard or helping others, Richard enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time outdoors, especially camping, where he could unwind with a cold beer in hand and perhaps a puff to complete the moment. His laughter and stories around the campfire will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
Richard knew how to fix just about anything, and his ability to solve problems with a calm, steady hand was something everyone relied on. Whether it was a car that wouldn’t start or a broken fence, he had the know-how and the heart to make things right.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, hard work, and generosity that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit lives on in his wife, children, grandchildren, and the countless lives he touched through his acts of service, his wisdom, and his laughter.
Richard will forever be remembered as a loving father, the best grandfather, and a true friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will remain with us, always.
Rest in peace, Dad. You were one of a kind, and we’ll carry your love and strength with us forever.
