Obituary of Raymond Reid
After a short, but courageous battle with cancer it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our precious Raymond Percy Reid on February 4th, 2025, at the age of 63, formerly of North Harbour, Placenta Bay. Ray passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family.
To know Ray was to love him. He will be remembered for having a kind heart, a genuine smile with a twinkle in his eye, the most humorous personality and his love for his family. He will live on in the hearts of those that knew him and loved him.
Though his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us with love and light through life’s journey. May we find solace in the cherished memories we shared; laughs together around the table and the profound impact he made on our lives.
Predeceased by his dear parents Clayton & Edith Reid, great-nephew Noah Bailey, special uncles/friends Eric & Gord Gilbert and Hubert.
He leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of his older siblings Freeman (Gladys), Viney (Wayne), Louise (Ralph) and Pauline (Garry); his daughter Emma; cherished nieces; Trina (Rob), Trudy (Philip), Wandalee and Hannah as well as other nieces and nephews; his cherished Patricia, partner Annette. Special aunts Margaret (Tom), Ethel and a large circle of family and friends.
“We will never forget to check for your car in the Tim’s parking lot, your quick remarks and stories told so perfectly. We will always cherish your smile and the twinkle in your eye. Thank you for teaching us to love a little country and how important it is to have a free spirit. Your vinyl records will forever be spinning in your honour. You will be endlessly missed and loved forever.”
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray’s memory may be made to Ride for Dad – Avalon (fight against cancer is committed to help save men’s lives and improve the quality of life for men and their families living with the disease).
