Philip passed away yelling, screaming, and kicking wanting to stay above ground. He knew he was going someplace very tropical and warm on a year round basis. Fortunately for us he wrote his obituary before we had a chance. From here on is Phil’s testament to his life.
I had a very colourful, enjoyable life. I was called to the bar at a very young age of 19 years old. Once called, I answered!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the bars and the nightlife in Windsor, Detroit, and various cities throughout Ontario, Aruba, and other Caribbean hot spots. Going to the Sandbar in the ocean they would only take credit cards, they didn’t want to take wet money!
When playing cards I always set up the competition and let them know I was a doctor… Dr Phil if you please, in my mind I was an experienced specialist as a Card…iologist. Many great laughs over a few pops and a great round of playing cards, sharing jokes with family and friends.
I enjoyed my regular weekly golf excursions with the guys at Roseland Golf Course and was especially proud of teaching my B.I.L. Dave Lefler the finer points of golf. Dave was a regular golf playing partner of mine. With Dave teeing off from the ladies tee I was used to carrying Dave’s score weekly on the golf course. Dave Lefler – even in death I am living in your brain rent free, I am still CHIRPING you brother, love you man, your west end brother-in-law!!!
I enjoyed a successful career in the banking world with over 45 plus years, working all over Ontario SW with CIBC, Royal Bank, and finally WFCU Credit Union. I enjoyed the many interactions with the clients and credit union members and felt a great sense of satisfaction assisting people with their financial needs.
To any bosses I pissed off throughout my career, love means never having to say …. I’m Sorry – LMAO
I was involved with many sports organizations over the years to benefit our sons in their sports. I encourage everyone to step up and volunteer their time for their children and their teammates. It is way better than providing your considerable vocal expertise from the peanut gallery.
I love everyone that was a part of my life. I am especially proud and grateful to Pammie, Blake, Ashlee, Brett, my brothers, sisters and of course the outlaws!!!
To the staff and owners of Capri Pizza on Dougall Ave, Kevin and Jim, please prepare my weekly Friday night pizza as usual, no need to cook the pizza. Send it my way and I will cook it down here!
I hope to eventually see everyone on the other side. Dress code is casual beachwear, as it will be hot where I am resting.
I will be cremated to become acclimatized to my new living quarters.
Lets now celebrate this charmed life I had, details to follow shortly.
As they say in Jamaica, Soon Come.
Join Phil’s family on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor from 1-4 and 6-9 pm. Cremation to follow.
