Reg is survived by his daughters, Josie Doll (Clayton Richard) and Kim Peterson; his granddaughter Mikka Doll; his sister Sandra McClung (Lynn); his sister Sheila Holt (Wally); and his sisters-in-law, Carol Phillips Peterson and Alice Earl, brother-in-law Anthony Earl (Barb) and their families as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by his four children from a previous marriage; Darren Peterson (Mona), Carol Tidmarsh (Scott), Marla Goode (Rich) and Lana Johnson (Ryan) and their families.
Besides his loving wife, Eve, he was predeceased by his parents, his younger brother Ronald Peterson and his grandson Christian Doll.
Reg was born on July 30, 1940 in Lethbridge, Alberta, the first child of Wilford Kay Peterson and Mary Powell Peterson. He was raised in Cranford and Warner, AB. After farming several years near Warner, Reg became a salesman for a large farm implement dealership. He later moved the Lethbridge, where he owned a copying machine company called “Copystat”. Reg and his wife Eve, worked together to build Eve’s bookkeeping business “Y-Comm Services”, which they ran successfully until retirement. He also maintained several real estate holdings and dabbled in car sales.
Reg was a no-nonsense man who enjoyed life. He worked hard, always taking pride in what he was doing. He was known for his infectious laugh, which served him well in his salesmen roles as well as making it easy to find him in a crowd. His greatest joy was watching and participating the lives of his grandchildren; he was always ready and willing to travel for a volleyball or hockey game even though he knew nothing of either sport! He enjoyed travelling with Eve, among his favorites were memorable trips on an Alaskan Cruise and Costa Rica.
In most recent years, he enjoyed the company and camaraderie of his “Coffee Crew” at the South Mayor Magrath Tim Hortons, where you could find him at least twice a day.
Reg will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but will be welcomed with open arms by this wife and grandson.
A Celebration of Reg’s life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.
