Poirier, Paul Joseph – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Paul Poirier on July 7, 2025, at the age of 63. Paul was born in St Stephen, N.B., to Armand and Alphonsine (Caissie) Poirier.
Paul met the love of his life and beloved wife of 21 years, Crystal Poirier later in life finally fulfilling himself. Paul was known for his strong personality, unwavering tormenting, and love for his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and especially his ocean property, “Paul’s Paradise”, which is his legacy to his family and friends.
Paul joined the Canadian Forces at a young age serving with all three branches, Army 2 RCR CFB Gagetown, NB, Air Force as an AVN Tech CFB Trenton, ON and then as a Sea King Tech with 12 Wing CFB Shearwater where he deployed with the RC Navy. After his 25 years of service to his country in the military, Paul decided he wanted a less stressful profession, so he started driving and operating an explosive truck all over the Maritimes with Atlantic Explosives.
He was predeceased by his parents, Armand and Alphonsine (Caissie) Poirier; brothers-in-law, Donald Webster, Danny Stewart; and cousin, Raymond Caissie.
Paul is survived by his wife, Crystal (Redden); sons, Kyle Poirier (Jenn McClelland) and Roddie MacDonald (Katelyn); daughter, Rachel MacDonald (Joe Gabriel); special nephew, Justin Webster; brother, Fabian Poirier (Kelly); sister, Lisa Stewart; sister-in-law, Darlene Webster; brother-in-law, Karl Redden; mother-in-law, Ada Redden; grandchildren, Adaline Gabriel and Cash Gabriel; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
Private funeral services are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
Family service will be held in Paul’s Paradise, Moser River, on Sunday, July 13 at 3 p.m. Paul’s final resting place will be with the smell of the ocean forever.
