Patricia Irene Hiller (nee Hubbard) born April 8, 1938 in St. Catharines, Ontario, passed away peacefully on January 15 in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 86. Pat will be remembered for the warmth and compassion she showed to family, friends, and caregivers. A registered nurse by training, Pat began her career in the Emergency Room of Hamilton General Hospital. She later moved into long-term care administration, managing several homes in Ontario as she relocated to follow the career of her late husband, David Hiller. Pat and David’s last move took them to Calgary where they fully enjoyed their retirement years, immersed in family, friends and volunteer activities.
Pat was predeceased by her husband, David; mother, Mary Patricia; father, Wilfred; brothers, Norman and Larry Hubbard; and sister-in-law, Audrey Snider. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Kathryn (Greg) MacHardy of Edmonton; son, Michael (Pam) Hiller of Calgary; sister, Carolyn (Robert) Milson of St. Catharines; brother-in-law, Peter (Dianne) Hiller of Stratford; grandchildren, Cassie (Mitch) Wiebe, Jessie (Brandon) Smith, Elizabeth (Haydn) Melin and Thomas (Kailey) MacHardy; great-grandchildren, Michael and Cara Wiebe; and many extended family members and friends.
Pat will be missed by all those who relied on her wise counsel and on the astounding memory which she maintained her entire life.
Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will be held for close family and friends. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
Arrangements entrusted to Connelly-McKinley Edmonton South.
