Oswald was born to Robert and Levina Collins on May 24, 1949. He was one of 14 children.
He was a very quiet man that loved people, especially children. He loved to drive his car especially going to Gambo for groceries. If anyone needed a ride he was always there to take them wherever they wanted to go. His favorite saying was like Joey Smallwood would say « like ya wood – like ya splits ». He was also a sports fan, especially for the Toronto Maple Leafs, but when they lost recently he took his favorite Maple Leafs cap and threw it in the garbage. He loved to see people come for a visit and have a chat. He had one home care worker whom he loved very much and he said she was the boss. He loved to visit his special sister-in-law Maxine and always brought her treats when he went to the store. He will certainly be missed by his family and friends.
Oswald leaves to mourn his passing: sisters Frances Holloway, Margaret Cooze (Reginald), Dorothy Slaney (Ron), Eileen Rogers; brother Cecil (Maxine); and many nieces and nephews, and other family members.
He is predeceased by his mother and father Robert and Lavina Collins; brothers Almore, Stewart, Chesley and Maxwell; sister Dulcie; brothers-in-law Elvis Rogers and Bill Holloway; sisters-in-law Louise and Patsy.
