Michael Oye Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Michael Katsumi Oye. Most beloved Husband of Lois, cherished Father of Sheila Whittaker (deceased) and Michelle Semak (Eric). Adored Grandfather of Miranda Semak (James) and Great Grandfather of Brantley Michael Gover and Ethan Derek Gover who brought him more pleasure than one can capture.
He was born in East York to Masaye and Sannosuke Oye. Survived by his siblings Gerry Oye (Donna), Kay Foster (Larry), Marie Suehiro (Joe), Patricia McFarlane (Alistair). Predeceased by his parents, his brother Sammy, His Granddaughter Amanda, Daughter Sheila, and Parents in law Bernice and Hollis Steeves.
Will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Gail Malcolm (Bill), nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and several special lifelong friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Adam Mazzetti (Internal Medicine) for his compassionate care and comforting presence.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, February 6, from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment at Avondale Cemetery followed by a reception at the funeral home.
