Maura Elizabeth Beam (nee Bailey) left this world unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 25th, encompassed by love from her chosen family, Pam & Owen Crossan, Hilary & Justin Brennan, and Bob Thorburn.
Predeceased by father Ira, mother Eileen, and brothers John and Keith Bailey.
Leaving to mourn is a large circle of close and lifelong friends, too many to name.
A special thank you to Dr. Erin Wilson for going above and beyond to take such great care of Blitz.
Maura lived a full and vibrant life. She graduated as a registered nurse, and was head of the Poison Control department at the old Janeway hospital for many years. She ran for the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador. She traveled to many countries and continents, experiencing some of life’s greatest marvels. She had a rich social life, never one to miss an event, where she was known for her robust and infectious laugh. She was a loyal and loving friend, with a true heart of gold. The greatest joys of her life were the many schnauzers she loved over the years, and she will be missed greatly by her Blitz.
Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday, March 3rd from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A farewell to Maura will be held in Carnell’s chapel at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4th.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a pet charity of one’s choice may be made in Maura’s memory
