Obituary For Mary Harms
Mary Harms, long-time resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, since 1963, went home to her Lord and Savior on March 1, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on March 20, 1935, in Oak Lake, Manitoba. She was the youngest child and only daughter of the late Dietrick and Maria Rempel, of Mission, BC.
Mary had a career she loved. She began her 33-year career with the Grande Prairie School District in 1967. Her first position was at the old Montrose Junior High School, as a secretary. Then, when Crystal Park School opened, she transferred there. She retired in 2000 when she put her energy into fighting her first battle with cancer.
Mary is survived by her beloved son, Glenn (Deborah) Harms and daughter, Marilyn Harms. She loved her grandchildren; Derick Fehr, Chad (Crystal Bryce) Fehr, Naomi (Chris) Fernander, Jocelyn (Jonathan) Collin, and Noah VanBuhren. She also had 3 great-grandchildren: Aurora, Aarick and Aydin. Mary is also survived by a brother, Dietrick (Mary) Rempel of Kansas and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her parents and her youngest son, Brian Harms. Also, a brother and sister-in-law, (Peter and Elsie Rempel) and Jacob Rempel.
Interment will be at Emerson Trail Cemetery by her beloved son, Brian.
