The passing of Mary « Diana » Leslie of Blacks
Harbour NB, wife of the late Herbert W. Leslie, occurred unexpectedly
at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on January 3, 2025.
Born in Dalhousie NB on January 10, 1944, she was a daughter of the
late Earl and Lydia (Lapoint) Larson. A loving mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend,
Diana is survived by three daughters: Marilyn Leslie (Randy Weaver) of
Blacks Harbour NB, Kimberly Cook of Back Bay NB and Carla (Marcel)
Boudreau of Dauversière NB; grandchildren: Aime, Sheldon,
Derek, Jill, Sherri, Cody, Nick and Katelyn; 16 great-grandchildren;
two great-great-grandsons; brothers: Charles Larson and Lloyd Larson
both of Dalhousie NB and Vaughon Larson of Quebec; sisters: Marlene
Larson and Darlene (Michael) Babin both of Dalhousie NB; her dearest
friend whom she enjoyed spending time and living each day with,
Charlie Snyder; her best friend: Kitty Martin; and countless nieces,
nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Diana was predeceased
by her children: Mary Ann Leslie, Justin Leslie and Velda Leslie; and
by her siblings: Thomas Larson and Marina Larson.
Prior to retirement, Diana worked primarily in the fishing
industry with her late husband, Herbert. She had a passion for the
outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, gardening and flowers. Diana was
the true matriarch of her family. She was the lifeline and solid
foundation that everyone would turn to for love, advice and support
when needed. She never judged, always loved unconditionally and was
the biggest cheerleader and Prayer Warrior for the family, all the way
down to the 5th generation. Diana was known as
the « Queen of Christmas » in her family. She loved the season
and looked forward to the family visits every year. Above all, Diana
loved her Lord. She lived to serve the Lord and her faith gave her
strength in all she did. Her love, devotion, kindness and compassion
will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Arrangements in the care of the
St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George
NB. Resting at the Funeral Home with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and
6-8 pm. The service will be held from the funeral home chapel on
Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. The interment
will be held in the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. In
Diana’s memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer would
be appreciated by the family.
