Shipley (Scott), Margaret Ann – Age 82, of Truro. With deep sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Shipley on January 17, 2025 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Elroy and Dorothy (MacKenzie) Scott.
Margaret was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro and the Happy Harmonies singing group.
Marg’s family was the center of her happiness, raising two sons in their Young Street home. She was a “Mom” to many of the neighborhood kids. With a talent for baking, many people were lucky to enjoy her homemade bread. Marg was an avid reader, loved music, dancing, the beach, sunsets and flower gardening. She had a special love of blue jays.
Throughout the years, she and Pinky enjoyed many trips and treasured their days spent together at the campground.
A beautiful lady, friend to all, she will always be loved and missed by sons, Lloyd (Theresa) and Kevin (Debbie); grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Erin, Bailee; great-grandchildren, Hope, Payton, Caleb, Easton, Silas; brother, George Scott; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert in infancy; husband of 53 years, Lawrence “Pinky” Shipley; and sister-in-law, Joan Scott.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Colchester East Hants Hospice Society or a charity of choice.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
