Lydia Schaak Obituary
Lydia peacefully passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Care Centre on January 19th 2025 at the age of 61. Loving Mother of Andrew Schaak. Beloved Sister to Tony. A beautiful soul that will be sorely missed by friends and family alike. Lydia is predeceased by parents Elmer and Myrtle Rankin.
In this time we took and opertunity to reflect back on the life Lydia made for the people around her. « My beautiful cousin. Lydia, always ready to tell a great story, and laugh out loud before telling the punchline. She was extremely kind hearted and sensitive (although she hid it well). I remember when we were children and she trusted me to cut her hair, yikes! It kept getting shorter and shorter and shorter until we finally had to get my mom to intercede. She didn’t get mad at me; she just took it in stride. I felt blessed to be able to pray with her in her end of life, it was an honour to be called, I hope you grasped Jesus’ hand and held on tight.
