Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Luke Payne announce his passing in Corner Brook, Tuesday, April 1st,2025 at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 61 years Yvonne Payne. His children Beth (Jim), Penny (Todd), and Roger. His grandchildren Jason (Beck), Nichole (Kit), Alex, Kaitlynn and Donovan (Tara) ; great grandchildren Annabelle, Everly, Jack and Tessa. Also leaving to mourn his sister Betty (Tony), brother Calvin (Ivy), sister Gloria, a large circle of friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Luke was predeceased by his daughter Beth and son Roger.
Luke was a great musician who loved to play many instruments and sing. He was a very talented man and enjoyed picking up the guitar or accordian anytime to play for people. He had so much pride working at Broom Point as a Park Interpreter for Gros Morne National Park. He loved to talk about how many famous people he met at Broom Point and took alot of pride in that.
His family will miss him dearly. Gone but never forgotten.
Visitation will take place at the Anglican Church in Cow Head on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025 from 7-9 pm and continue on Friday, April 4th, 2025 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Where also the funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at 2pm with Rev. Deacon Nora Shears and Rev. Terry Rose officiating. Interment to follow at the family plot.
