Loukas Papaconstantinou passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the age of 101 and a half. Loukas was born October 20, 1923, in Lefkasion Kalavriton, Greece. He came to Toronto on September 30, 1967, where he started a new journey. He was the beloved husband to the late Maria Papaconstantinou, and loving father to Sophie and (John) Zafiropoulos, George and (Helen) Papaconstantinou, Efthemia and the late (Tom) Theodoropoulos, Sam and (Stella) Papaconstantinou, and Bill and (Kathy) Papaconstantinou. A Pappou who will forever be remembered and adored by his 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Loukas lived life led by a strong faith that enabled him to overcome the many challenges he encountered. He was a man with a strong sense of integrity who set examples for his family. Loukas had a zest for life and cherished special family gatherings and celebrations. He never said no to a glass of ouzo or wine and always had a smile on his face and laughter in his heart. Stepping out, he was a class act in his three-piece suits and polished attire. Loukas greeted everyone he met with respect and kindness, making each one feel important. It didn’t matter who you were, his warmth always made you feel like family. Whenever he saw his grandchildren, he always offered them a piece of Juicy Fruit gum and money.
Despite Loukas’ calm demeanor, he was a strong man who had a positive influence on his family. He was a loyal and loving husband to his wife Maria, a supportive father to his children, and a gentle soul to his grandchildren.
